My name is Matt Taylor. This will be my sixth year of teaching. I am so excited to be a part of the Sato team and love all that our STEAM school has to offer!
I grew up in Tigard and graduated from Tigard High School. My undergrad occurred via a combination of time spent between Portland State University and the University of Oregon. I received my Masters in Teaching at Portland State University.
Teaching is my passion and I can think of nothing else I'd rather do with my life. I was born into a family of teachers (mother, grandmother, two uncles, and a great uncle) and have spent so much time in the classroom as both a student, volunteer, and now teacher.
I live with my amazing fiancee, Abigail, and far too many pets. We are currently up to two cats (Meemo and K'firah), two ferrets (Mac and Hazel), and a rotating assortment of mostly nameless fish. In my spare time I love to listen to music and have amassed quite a collection of vinyl. Reading, writing, basketball, and an excessive amount of time spent in Pokemon Go are other things that I enjoy.
It is my goal as a teacher to get each and every one of my students excited to come into school every day. Learning should be engaging, meaningful, and fun!
